South Aussie with Cosi gets a first look at The Crown Inn’s $2m transformation

The Crown Inn’s $2 million transformation has hit the small screen, with South Aussie with Cosi stopping by Old Reynella to take a look at the newly renovated pub.

The segment, which aired on Channel 7 Adelaide, saw Cosi explore the historic pub following its renovation and relaunch, meeting locals and getting a taste of the new menu along the way.

First opening its doors in 1855, The Crown Inn has been part of the Old Reynella community for more than 170 years. The recent redevelopment was designed to give the pub a new lease on life while retaining the character and community feel that has made it a local fixture for generations.

The $2 million project included an expanded bistro with an additional 60 seats, new outdoor dining, upgraded AV in the sports bar, a refreshed front bar and updates to the pub’s façade and branding.

Food was also firmly in the spotlight during Cosi’s visit.

The segment went behind the scenes with The Crown Inn’s kitchen team, showcasing the work that goes into dishes including the lamb shank pie — a two-day process involving slow-cooked lamb — and the pork belly, which has quickly become a favourite with customers.

Locals also shared their thoughts on the transformation, including long-time customers who have been visiting the pub for decades and a group of neighbours using the Crown as the setting for their first girls’ day out together.

For Harvest Hospitality, the redevelopment is about ensuring a pub with more than 170 years of history continues to serve its community well into the future.
